You read the title correctly, the Toyota Prius set a new record on the Nürburgring, but this time, it's a different kind of record, a fuel economy record.
Toyota took one of its Prius Plug-In hybrids to the Nürburgring, charged up the battery, put on a set of low-rolling-resistance tires and put behind the wheel the automotive journalist Joe Clifford. After 21 minutes who made the Prius achieve an indicated 0.4 l/100km (698 mpg).
