Ford Adaptive Steering Setup - Video

Ford has just announced that within the next 12 months it will be releasing its new Ford Adaptive Steering tech, which is like all other adaptive setups you’ve seen, but fitted to cheaper cars – it’s usually been reserved for premium brands, and even there it was usually offered as an option. Its aim is to minimize driver effort when steering, by dramatically reducing the steering angle input needed to turn the car.
It changes according to the speed you’re traveling at, so while at low speeds it’s really direct, at higher speeds it dulls the steering considerably, making it easier to keep the car goings straight.
However, Ford’s system apparently goes further. It reportedly “improves steering feel at all speeds, making any vehicle easier to maneuver and more enjoyable to drive,” all while being “housed entirely within the steering wheel, Ford’s newest steering technology is a smart solution that will benefit drivers in all driving conditions.”
