You're now looking at the eighth generation of Passat. It's cleaner, lighter and bristling with tech.
VW doesn't want to make any mistakes with this new model because they sell more Passat than any other model worldwide (1.1 million units in 2013), compared to 970.000 Golfs.
The MQB tech (Trasnlated from german "Modular Transversal Toolkit" or "Modular Transverse Matrix") brings a multitude of technology. There's a head-up display available, rear-seat entertainment packages, auto-braking to avoid collisions and a system to drive for you in stop-start traffic jams.
A total of 10 direct injection turbo petrol and diesel engines will be offered, stretching from 118 HP - 276 HP.
The new Passat goes on sale in Europe in July 2014, priced from €25,875.
